The American Parkinson Disease Association- Greater St. Louis Chapter has exciting news to announce! We are pleased to announce a brand new Optimism Walk- with Bill Donius serving as Honorary Chair- that will take place on June 10, 2017 at Maryville University! This family friendly event will begin at 10 am with pre-walk exhibits and demonstrations of some of our great programs, followed by opening ceremonies and a short walk 11.15 am. Multiple lengths for the walk are available, ranging from 3/4 of a mile to a full 5k, and you are welcome to complete any distance that you feel comfortable walking on race day. More exhibits, demonstrations and activities for children will be available after the walk is completed. Lunch will also be available that afternoon. We hope that you will join us for this event! Registration is $40 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. All registered participants will receive a free Optimism Walks t-shirt, and anyone who walks on event day will receive a finisher’s medal. We hope that you will put together a team of family and friends to help us fundraise to help us meet our event goal of raising $60,000 for the programs & services that the American Parkinson Disease Association offers, as well as research for finding causes of and a cure for Parkinson’s.
