The APDA National Young Onset Center’s newly re-designed Web site is now online! Visit us at www.youngparkinsons.org.
Here is a resource you may wish to download for your use at home or if you were to go to the hospital. The Critical Information for Caring for the Parkinson’s Patient is a form developed by the Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon (PRO) and The Parkinson Center of Oregon to assist patients and medical professionals in providing optimal care for those with Parkinson’s disease.
I also wanted to provide you with at least a few other good links or PD connections for your perusal. I have found the Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation news updates to be most helpful. Their Web site carries the full range of articles received each week and in the past. These are delivered to your inbox every Friday morning via the Internet. To register for this free service, contact www.nwpf.org or call 1-877-980-7500 and ask to be included on this valuable email service.
These are additional links to interesting websites when you have time to browse:
Here is a link to an American Academy of Neurology DVD, “Parkinson’s Disease: A Guide for Patients and Families.” The video features Michael J Fox, Dr Stanley Faun (Director of the Center for Parkinson’s Disease and other Movements Disorders at Columbia University), and Dr Kathleen Shannon (Professor of Neurology – Rush University Medical Center)
